We had Well Worn Co. take Everett's one year milestone pictures and our holiday pictures this year. I LOVED how they turned out. Have you checked out Tiny Prints new Premium Holiday Cards? They are stunning. I decided to choose the foil stamped Elegant Merriment design, but it was a close tie with the Joyful Swatches design.
*Holiday cards provided by Tiny Prints, but all thoughts are my own :)
Everett went to the doctor and weighs 24.2 lbs and is 31" long. You're still sleeping around 7:30pm-7:30am. Some days you take two naps, but lately you've been fighting that morning nap. You can stand on your own now and prefer walking, which means you have a lot more bruises on your head and scratches on your knees. Poor guy. I think you love going to "school". You don't cry when I drop you off. The other morning you ran straight for the balls, looked back at me, I waved bye and you kept on playing. You've started eating off a plate when we go out to eat. You make this whiney, squealing noise that is adorable! lol.
You are becoming so independent. You want things your way and will fuss if you don't get it. You've started shaking your head "no". You love to try to eat with a fork or spoon. You also love drinking water. You go through spells of eating one thing one day and won't touch it the next. I'm pretty sure your absolute favorite food is bananas and burgers right now though. You LOVE being outside. You cry when we bring you back in and you are always at the door begging to go out. You've been giving lots of kisses lately and checking out Mama's face. The other day you grabbed my ear and were looking at me so hard like you were taking me all in. I love when I pick you up from school and put you in your car seat. You just stare and want kisses.
We celebrated Everett turning ONE on September 28th with close friends and family. I was meloncholy leading up to the day, but also so greatful. I miss my sweet little tiny baby, but I love seeing Everett's personality shine through more and more. Zac and I both say all the time how "cool" he is :) He's our buddy now and it's so fun to watch him explore our world.
You sleep from 7:30 pm- 7:30am give or take. You like to nap twice a day. Usually 9:30 am and again 1:30 pm, unless it's a school day (12:30 pm then you nap again at home at 3 pm [hopefully]). You are still breastfeeding 5 times, eat 3 meals and 1-2 snacks a day. You know what objects are now. I ask you where your blocks, Wink (stuffed animal), bird, etc. is and you know what I'm talking about. You sign for milk when you are hungry, we are working on signing for "more". You took for first steps!!! You took about 3 steps the other day, but haven't done it again (*You've now walked almost the full length of the rug in the living room and I started to tear up, haha). You love to hold on to things and walk all day long. You also still love to scoot your cars around the floor. You made your first painting! You gave me my first kiss on my b'day and it was the best gift. If I ask you to give me a kiss you lean in with your mouth wide open, haha. You love music class at school. Your teachers say that you smile so big! You were pretty much destined to be a music lover thanks to your Mama and Daddy ;) You sometimes like to throw all of your food on the floor (which makes Mama mad). Actually, you love to throw anything on the floor haha. You still like reading to yourself and get so excited for books. You are pointing like crazy and want to know what everything is. You're babbling like crazy and loudly.
We decided to get out of town for a mini vacay. It was Everett's first time in a hotel. We stayed at the Hutton and it was nice as usual :) We got a suite so Ev had his own space with a crib. He did great! We went to Cumberland Park. Everett LOVED the water park! We walked around downtown. That night we ate at Burger Up and Jeni's Ice Cream. We loved the 12 south area. It was a short but sweet trip!
Your favorite words right now are "Mama" and "Uh Oh". You LOVE to drop things and say "uh oh". You also started throwing everything. You are still obsessed with blueberries and have added raspberries to that list. We have never seen you pass up a blueberry or throw one on the ground; You shovel them in your mouth as fast as possible. You also really like spaghetti, meatballs, kiwi and melons. You love to brush your teeth and cry when we take your brush away. You hate getting your diaper changed. You think it's so funny when I hide, pop out, and scare you. You think your barn toy is the coolest and Mama does too (thanks Daddy!). You got ANOTHER tooth! You starting walking behind your ride on Dusty plane. You love to turn out the lights (using switch and pull string). You like to point to the lights too and trees. You know the sound of the door and when someone comes home. You love cars and pushing everything around. You can stand on your own longer and I can tell by your face that you "get it". You try to open flaps on your hide and seek books. You won't keep your normal bibs on and throw them to the floor. We wised up and bought the silicone ones that are hard to get off, haha. You started school three days a week!!! I think you are having fun (I hope) and experiencing new things. It was hard on Mama at first, but I'm starting to come around. You love the stroller rides, listening to organ music and playing with hats in the mirror. The other day I picked you up and you pointed to me and said "Mama" when I put you in your car seat. It was the sweetest! You had your first runny nose (thanks to school or traveling?). You had your first hotel experience in Nashville. You did GREAT and we had lots of fun!
Everett went to the doctor and weighs 21 lb 10 oz and is 29" tall. He's been falling asleep on his own for naps and is a great sleeper at night. He goes to sleep between 7-8 and wakes up around the same time. He's been taking only two naps, but sometimes he will still take 3. He still sleeps with his owl blankie. We got the ok to give him pretty much whatever he wants to eat. His favorites are blueberries (I think he's going to turn into one), egg yolks, bananas, zucchini, summer squash and now cheese. I gave him turkey, yogurt, and pasta for the first time recently. He hates watermelon, but will eat cantaloupe! He waves hello and goodbye. He's crawling on all fours, but prefers his army crawl on slick floors (he's so fast!). He loves when you kick the soccer ball against the wall. He screams and laughs. He also thinks hitting his mobile is the funniest thing ever. He's pulling up on everything and walking around while holding on. He loves his toy wind up car that his Mimi got him and all his new toys (soccer ball, record player and bucket of shapes) from Daddy. You love doing anything you're not supposed to and think it's so funny when you get in trouble. You started sticking your tongue out. You have so many faces and they are all so funny! I think it's so sweet when you place your hand on your head and play with your hair :) You also reach your hand out and try to grab stuff that's too far out of reach. You love to crawl and scoot your cars with you. You've started trying to say "uh oh" when you drop things. You can throw the ball. When I say "where's the bird?" you know what I'm talking about and go straight to it (our headboard has a metal bird on it). You also know where to go/look when I say "Daddy's home!". You can stand on your own for a few seconds. You can turn book pages back and forth on your own. You've started pointing and you like me to tell you what everything is. It sounds like you're saying "good" and "dog" now. You've started babbling + singing to yourself. It's the sweetest ♥
We went to the farmer's market, hiked Herb Parsons lake, got fireworks, cooked out and went to the splash park! We had a busy, long weekend but it was so much fun. Sweet Everett fell asleep on the hike. I set him down by a trickling water fountain at the splash pad and then all of a sudden it started spraying water. Poor guy. I guess I should have watched the spray park water cycle first haha. I think he still liked going (maybe a little). He's always such a happy, good sport wherever we decide to take him! So thankful for that.
