1. GLORY // Doily Blanket...WOW!!! Be still my heart, haha. I would LOVE, seriously LOVE to have one of these. I will add it to my list of projects to complete + never will, OR you can buy one for $75. My eye is set on the mustard one (of course) ♥
2. Books at Jo Ann's. I spent my lunch break looking through quilt books + I found some great inspiration for our wedding quilt.
Got to see my sis in law, neice, cousins, uncle + aunt in law.
Enjoyed all of the beautiful trees, shrubs + flowers in bloom. I have always LOVED dandelions. I used to call them "blow-blows" haha. They always make me happy. I wished on one, but I can't tell what I wished for or it won't come true ;)
Obsessing Over: All of the beautiful trees, shrubs + flowers that are blooming all kinds of gorgeous colors! It's a great time to live in the South ;) ...except if you have allergies like me.
Working On: Finishing up my recent painting, an art journal page, getting my calendar in order + lots of work stuff.
Thinking About: Zac + I's one year anniversary. It's coming in a few months + I'm thinking about all the things I want to get done before then or do. I think it would be sweet to have a picnic at the botanic gardens (where we were married). I really need to start working on the wedding "guest book" quilt or I probably never will. I've seen so many cute anniversary picture ideas on pinterest + I want to start a tradition like this, this or this. I'll probably end up doing all of them, haha. I can't believe it's been a year + in some ways I can. We have grown together in the past year. We're learning about each other + what each of us needs/expects. I really LOVE being married. It's the best, but it does take work. One of my favorite quotes was from my brother: "You can be right, or you can be in a relationship." It's so true.
Anticipating: Going to see The Hunger Games! I'm excited about it. We wanted to wait until it's not so crowded, but I'm not sure if we'll be able to go one night this week or not. We may have to go this weekend. I'm looking forward to it + I hope it's really good.
Listening To: The Hunger Games soundtrack, haha :) *Sorry for those of you who are sick of hearing about it ;)
We saw Jessica Lea Mayfield at the Fareveller Festival. If you don't know her music, you need to! She was amazing as usual. You could really see her talent because she played an acoustic solo. That girl has skills + a beautiful voice. It was short set :( She was just hanging out in the room behind me. I thought about going to talk to her, but I gave her space, haha ;) I didn't want to be that creepy fan, but I was secretly stalking her. She said it was the weirdest show she's ever played. I'm pretty sure that's not a good thing :( I don't think she was feeling it at Otherlands. Poor JLM. She played some new music which was cool. Zac + I were hoping she would play "Standing in the Sun", but she didn't. We can't get it out of our heads + it's not on an album. Hopefully it will be on the new one.
Also, Silversun Pickups is coming out with a new album Neck of the Woods. They have a pretty sweet looking yellow colored vinyl.
Eating: Strawberry shortcake :) It always reminds me of summer. I just found out that there's a place not to far from here where you can pick your own strawberries + fruit. I'm so excited! Zac + I are going to plan a trip to go in the next month. Fun!
Wishing: That my bestie is pregnant with a girl :) She already has a cute baby boy + I think it would be perfect if she has a girl. Plus, the baby shower that I am planning will be so much cuter if it's a girl, haha (just kidding!).
What about you? What have you been up to lately? If you do your own "currently" post on your blog, link back in the comments! Thanks again to Danielle + Megan for the inspiration of these posts.
I was reading Zac's birthday card to me from last year + one of my favorite things he's written me was "My only regret is that we didn't meet sooner." It melts my heart every time I read it. It got me thinking about that. Zac + I went to the same Preschool, Elementary School, High School + College, but he was a grade/year older. We have mutual friends that we've known our whole lives. Our best friends shared a backyard and he even went on a date with my best friend (strange, I know). He says he remembers me, but I honestly have no memories of him. My memory is pretty bad. I really wish it was better because I do cherish memories + the little things that have happened in my life. That's why I make sure to keep a journal + write this blog + take lots of pictures.
I was telling my mom yesterday that I wish Zac + I had met sooner. I think waiting until you are older to get married is a good idea + I've grown so much in the past few years that make me the person that I am today, but I think about how happy I am with him. I could have (?)years of memories, experiences + adventures instead of just 2 1/2. I'm not the kind of person that lives with regrets + I know things happen for a reason. There's just a few relationships that I think tainted some of the things that may have made my experiences sweeter if they hadn't happened. I'm not sure if that makes sense + I don't really want to do into detail, sorry.
Zac asked if I was having a midlife crisis, haha. I told him no, I just wish we had more time together. Then he replied with "we've got the rest of our lives together." I know that's true + I'm so lucky that I even met him at all. I can't wait to live the rest of our lives together + experience all the great things that are in our future. It's going to be an amazing journey ♥
-The feeling of being totally stretched out after pilates. You should seriously try it if you haven't. It feels SO GOOD. I feel 5 inches taller.
-The best p,b+j I've ever made thanks to this peanut butter + this jelly.
-Wearing black + white stripes with neon pink!!! It just makes you feel good :)
-Tickle fights :)
-Started reading The Hunger Games. It is SO GOOD!!! I'm already addicted + can't stop thinking about it.
-Fancy dinner for Zac's Mom's birthday. It was yummy!
-The Bachelor. (enough said)
-Not being adjusted to daylight savings time + going to bed late + still having to get up early.
-A grey haired man said to me "Do you know what you will look like in 40 years?"...Ahh...no, what? (waiting for some really nice compliment)..."Me! Your hair color looks just like mine did."...I mean what do you say to that? Thanks mister, that's exactly what I want to think about right now. Then he said "you have freckles too right?" I'm not sure why everyone seems to think I'm a red head now. I LOVE the color it is right now (whatever that color is), haha :) Natural is good (and less expensive).
-Deciding not to go to the zoo because once we get there it is insanely busy. We forgot about Spring Break + everyone else have Spring fever too :( It ended up raining anyway, so it was meant to be. Maybe next weekend. (We went to an estate sale instead + it was really cool).
2. Baby lips. I finally got my hands on some. They keep selling out. My mom gave me the Pink Punch color + I LOVE it. It smells really good + the bright pink color is so pretty on my lips :)
3. These shorts. I'm so ready for summer (until it comes + then I'll be ready for fall, haha)! Everyone is saying it's going to be a long, HOT summer.
4. Pam Garrison's Instagram. It looks like she's having some kind of fun! I asked her what was in the box on the far right because they look like something I want to get my hands on. She told me they were Caran d'Ache neoart aquarelles(fat water solvable crayons[which I've used before, but I've never seen them so fat! haha]). I still can't seem to find them online :( Found them.
