Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

This past weekend mom + I went to:

• Brother Juniper's for breakfast (the best ever!!!) The wait was almost an hour, so we went to the art store around the corner + they were closed for Memorial Day weekend- BUST!
• We shared a waffle + the San Diegan (Rachael Ray's fav) YUM-O!!!  Their spreadable fruit is amazingly good (I had the blackberry).
• The mall to get the coconut body butter @ The Body Shop, but ours is out of business- BUST!
• Ken Rash's to get a hammock- They haven't sold them in 3 years, yet their website says they do- BUST! haha
• We went on a search to find mom's old house she grew up in.  Here are the pics:

 

• We eventually found a hammock stand at Dick's + a hammock @ Target
• Stopped by the farmer's market to look at the flowers + guess what???  They have one of my favorite things EVER!!! Boiled Peanuts!!! YUM!!!  For those of you who don't know:

Was anyone else collecting moss + twigs with lichen on a friday night? haha.  I saw these apothecary jars at Garden Ridge this weekend + had to have one.  I have seen alot of people on etsy making terrariums + wanted to give it a try.  I made the mushrooms using sculpey.  The bottom layer is polished rocks, then a layer of sphagnum peat moss, then the collected moss, seashells, twigs + lichen, etc.  I think they are pretty cute for my first try.

This is my new "Journal of Your Life" book.  I did these pages while I was going to or in NC.  I always start books like this and never finish them completely.  I have tons of sketchbooks halfway filled.  Why is that?  I am going to finish this one!!!  The rest of the pages right now are lots of words and lists :]  Speaking of lists...

Wanna Do's:

• Get my nails + toes done before Mike gets here :] 
• Go to the scrapbook store or art store to look for some pens + glue I have been wanting.
• Get a hammock for the backyard- I love hammocks :]  Esp. the cozy ones that are cloth with pillows. 
• Go to the mall to get the body butter in my last post (the store has closed!!! boo!!!)
• Spray tan maybe??? I'm totally against tans + love pale skin, but I want a little glow for summer.
• Start an etsy store: make prints of my work + sell them + sell my work in general.  I would love to have an artsy job or be able to live off stuff I create.  So many people are doing it, but it takes SUCH motivation and prolificacy!!!
• Start a quilt
• Paint!!!
• Swim maybe? if it's warm enough (too COLD!!!)
• Scrapbook
• Have fun ;]
• I made a terrarium!

A few weeks ago, I wrote a post about an Audrey Kawasaki print that I wanted.  They went so fast!!!  I was not one of the lucky 200 to get my hands on one, but... this past week the Black Apple had an update in her shop and...I got an original ink drawing in this series...Here are the pics of mine framed and unframed (courtesy of the black apple), YAY!:

This past weekend I went to his parents farm in Madison, NC.  We had lots of fun.  His mom was out of town, so I didn't get to visit with her :[  but...I met "Bandit" (doesn't have an official name yet), the new baby boy llama.  I just found out that one of my fav llamas (Jelly Bean) had a baby girl today!!!  I'm mad I missed it.  Oh well.

 

Gosh!  I fell in love with this little guy.  He is so freakin CUTE!!!  His little neck feels so funny + so is his run.

This pic cracks me up; I can't help but laugh :]

The rain came Sat. night + cooled things off.  We ate Mexican with his Dad, Aunt + Uncle.

 

We watched the beautiful sun set.

 

Then I left on Sunday :[  So sad.

His mom left alpaca socks + batik fabric + a quilting magazine for me!  I will post some pics of the fabric soon + what I make with it :]  I really wish I lived closer.

I hope everyone is having a happy hump day.  I am leaving work, yay! Ahh, relaxation.
